Italy! April 9/10 Sat/Sun - LAX/FCO (Rome)

Steve and I went for a 7-night whirlwind trip to Italy, to celebrate our 20th anniversary. We were able to take this trip because 1) our spring break was different from Anna and Sam's and 2) my mom and Yumi were able to watch the kids during their school week. Thank you!

So our flight left early morning from LAX Saturday morning, Yumi picked us up before the kids even woke up and we caught our 7 a.m. flight to Toronto, which connected to Rome. I love catching up on unique movies during long flights, so I watched The Big Short, 45 Years, and several tv episodes of The Big Bang Theory. Because of the time change, we arrived in Rome on Sunday morning. After customs, we took a motor coach to Roma Termini Station, and then took the Metro (subway) to the Colosseum stop. Our Airbnb hostess had warned us of the Rome Marathon occurring this morning, and that there would be a lot of traffic and detours in the area. I had taken snapshots of the directions, and a map as well, and that along with several helpful Italians along the way helped us find our apartment, home for two nights.
