Disneyland Park Hopper

Sam and I purchased 2-Day Park Hopper passes to celebrate his Spring Vacation. We had a nice leisurely time. Some of the rides we went on included Toy Story Mania, Buzz Lightyear, the Astro Orbiter Rocket Jets and the rides in Cars Land. Sam enjoyed making a short video and looking at the displays in Innoventions as well. One new discovery was the Dole Whip floats, pineapple juice topped with Dole Whip, yum!

LA Tourists

The next day Mari acted as chauffeur and travel guide as we took our relatives for shopping, meals and a concert. First off was the Work Boot Warehouse where Takashi bought a black pair of Chippewa boots. We also went to Jet Rag where Minori found several vintage clothing pieces. Mari took us to the Golden State for burgers and beer floats: yes, you read that right, beer floats, not root beer floats. A visit to Huay's architectural firm, then dinner at Bottega Louie, and finally the Neko Case concert at the Orpheum Theatre rounded out our fun-filled day.

Epic Adventure with Japan Relatives

In the spring, my aunt Kanchan, cousin Minori, and Minori's husband Takashi came to visit us from Japan. They stayed in hotels around Los Angeles, and we took them to several hot spots around town. Their visit coincided with our spring break, so Steve, Anna and I were able to join them this day. First, we hit Rodeo Drive and did some window shopping, and took photos with a Bugatti, an expensive car I learned. We also had lunch at the Rainbow Bar and Grill, a must-see for hard rock fans like Minori and Takashi. Finally, Anna and I continued the fun with them at Universal CityWalk, where we also so an outdoor concert of the Voice finalists. Many of the family members mastered the peace sign when getting their picture taken!
