Sam's School Year
As a fifth grader, Sam has done a fantastic job transitioning to his new school this year, the neighborhood elementary school. He recently portrayed Benjamin Franklin in a "Walk Through the Revolution". Also, Sam received an award for Academic Excellence, the "best award", as he called it. Great job, Sam!

Japanese Festival
When the Japanese teacher offers extra credit for taking a selfie at a local Japanese Festival, the whole family is there! We enjoyed onigiri, poki nachos, and Yakult samples, among other tasty treats in Huntington Beach. Anna did receive her extra credit points!

Ways and Means
Steve and I had a date night at Ways and Means in Pacific City, a new outdoor mall in Huntington Beach. We had the best seats overlooking the ocean. The restaurant is open and airy with a glam rugged look with the pipes and venting painted overhead with hanging modern chandeliers. We had a set course menu, the standout was the bacon wrapped scallops with a maple sauce. Super fun! I think Ways and Means will do well.
