Harvest Festival

Fun times at the church harvest festival on Halloween. It was cute seeing Anna and Sam participating together in one of the many booth games!

Family Fun Night

While Steve and I were in San Francisco, the kids went to Sam's school's Family Fun Night with my mom, Yumi, Mari and Julia. They had loads of fun, and met up with some of Sam's friends. Looks like Sam hit the jackpot with the In-N-Out prize as well!

SF Nike Half Day 3

We ended our SF trip with a tasty breakfast at Dottie's (Yelp!), a visit to Chinatown, and a stroll through Golden Gate Park. I love the diversity, rich culture and tasty eats of this city. Thank you Nike, and thank you San Francisco!

SF Nike Half Day 2

What an exciting race, surrounded by 20,000+ women (and a few men too) starting at the wee dark hours in Union Square. It was a hilly, scenic course, ending with a clear view of the Golden Gate Bridge. Finishers received a Tiffany necklace, and lots of photo ops! Steve finished first in his age division!

SF Nike Half Day 1

Steve and I were fortunate to be chosen for the Nike SF Half Marathon random drawing. The streets of SF were jammed with ladies from all around the U.S. and beyond, picking up race gear and doing some sightseeing. Steve and I made this into a 3-day weekend getaway, we had a scrumptious lunch at the Ferry Building and had a nice stroll around Union Square and its vicinity. We turned in early for our morning race start the next day.

Long Beach Marathon 2015

Steve and I bumped into Nhi and Ben at the Long Beach Expo the day before our race. Steve and Ben participated in the full marathon, while Nhi and I did the half. We were experiencing a heat wave at the time, so much so that the organizers allowed the half-marathoners to have the option of starting as early as the marathoners, 90 minutes early at 6 a.m. It was still a muggy morning, yet we still felt accomplished in our own way!

The Broad Museum

The newly-opened Broad Museum in Los Angeles is truly the hot ticket in town. Comprised of Eli Broad's collection by artists Andy Warhol, Jeff Koons, and Takashi Murakami to name a few, there are two stories of contemporary paintings, sculptures, and videos which are free to view by the public. Anna and Sam loved the museum as much as we did, maybe more than any they have been to in terms of truly appreciating and discussing the art in their own way. The final photo was created by Sam, he also took the pictures on his iPad for the collage.
