Italy is very travel-friendly for English speakers. At each train station, there are huge signs showing the name of the stop. Some stations are larger than others, at the Roma Termini, passengers view the display to see which track to go to. We took a reserved first class train to Florence. It spoiled us, namely Steve, who loved the reserved seating and the snack choices, "savory, or sweet" served by an attendant. Our second Airbnb apartment rental was a short walk from the station, next to the Duomo. Spacious and artistic, our accommodations truly had the best view!
We had sandwiches for lunch from 1 Due Fratellini, this must be the most famous sandwich shop in Florence! We walked up to the storefront, I ordered the ham roast pork with truffle creme (#28). The bread was warm and the fillings were fresh and savory. A great lunch!
