Hawaii, Day 4 : Pahoa

After breakfast at Ken's Pancake House, Rachel took us to another "secret spot" for snorkeling: the Kapoho Tide Pools in Pahoa. It was a little trek after parking but well worth it, seeing beautiful tropical fish in an isolated area of different pools of water. Unfortunately, Sam scraped his knee on the lava rocks, enough for Steve and I to take him to a clinic to get it cleaned up and get a liquid bandage applied to it. There's still beauty in the imperfect moments, we interacted with the great staff at Keaau Urgent Care, and Sam showed a lot of bravery. Getting Sam's wound taken care of assured us that he could play in the water once again within a couple of days. Anna stayed with Rachel and her family and played at the Champagne Ponds and visited with more of Rachel's relatives.
