Hawaii - Day 1 and 2 : Flight, Morris' House

Whenever I'd ask the kids where they would want to go on vacation, both would answer, "Hawaii"! I thought, we have great weather, beautiful beaches in California... could it be that much different? Yet, an opportunity arose where we could travel with our friend Rachel and her kids to the Big Island, and have this native expert show us the sights. We planned and prepared quickly and took a United flight together from LAX to Hilo, which is on the east side of the Big Island. Rachel's dad greeted us at the small airport and we followed him to our guest house which we rented through AirBnb. The owner Morris gave us the quick tour and we immediately felt right at home at the spacious accommodations. The next morning we enjoyed a waffle breakfast provided by Morris before we headed off to the first of many adventures.
