Hawaii : Day 9, Part 2 - 3 Beaches, 1 Day

After lunch, we went to Beach 69, where there are definite waves where there were plenty of boogie boarders. Beyond and to the left of this popular cove, snorkelers were checking out some amazing fish. Steve took a photo of a fleeting parrot fish, with a smile on its face.

Hawaii : Day 9, Part 1 - 3 Beaches, 1 Day

Three beaches in one day, could we do it? First off, we headed to the Waikoloa Beach Resort. One would never know there would be varied, pristine beaches along the coast, while passing the massive lava formations along the highway. This first beach had plenty of lounge chairs with the ocean on one side, a bay on the other, places to stroll and unique rock walls for plenty of photo opportunities.

Hawaii : Day 8, Part 2 - Sunset

We ate at Da Fish House, a casual "lunch wagon" where they served delicious seafood! In the evening we were able to hurry and catch the sunset after the kids had a quick dip at the beach near the condo.

Hawaii : Day 8, Part 1 - Mauna Kea

I knew the Mauna Kea Hotel beach would be special, something about getting up early and going to a beach to get one of the 30 first-come-first-serve parking passes started off the excitement. The Kauna'oa Beach ended up being my favorite of the trip: soft pristine white sand, warm clear calm waters, and kind sea turtles. Drifting on a boogie board or just letting the waves lift you gently were the two favorite pastimes here for me.

Hawaii : Day 7, Part 2 - Mauna Lani Golf Villas

We spent the last four nights at the Mauna Lani Golf Villas, we shared a beautiful condo. The first evening, the kids enjoyed the pool and hot tubs, and we made dinner at "home". We went to the Mauna Lani private beach, made a bit of noise during a wedding reception, and took a nice stroll. It felt like we saved the best for last!
