SD 4th of July Weekend, Part 3

It was Paulina's first time seeing fireworks, so it was as much fun watching her expressions as it was seeing the sparklers in the sky. It was a very fun weekend in the great city of San Diego!

SD 4th of July Weekend, Part 2

We toured several historic vessels through the Maritime Museum, including the oldest active sailing ship, the Star of India. We also took a bay cruise aboard a swift boat. Educational indeed!

SD 4th of July Weekend, Part 1

We went to San Diego for the 4th of July weekend. We met up with my mom and Yumi, and Mari's family. San Diego has a charm of its own, with the walkway along the water, all types of ships and boats in the harbor, restaurants, shops, and high rise buildings as the backdrop. We first had lunch at delicious Buon Appetito in Little Italy, just a short walk from our hotel, the Hampton Inn. The kids had fun at the new Waterfront Park. After a nice walk to the Seaport District, the kids went the Corvette Diner for lots of food, balloon, and straw fun as you can see here!

Huntington Library and Gardens

We try to make it an annual event to visit the Huntington Library and Gardens in San Marino, and this summer my mom went with us. We first went to the Chinese Gardens for lunch. Every time we visit, there is a new structure or sculpture. This specific garden seems to have a large number of donors. A lot of plant life has grown in as well. We enjoyed the museums for the artwork, and admittedly the nice air conditioning! It was a warm one, but it was a nice escape coming here where we can travel from one country to the next in the span of a few hours.
