Lily had a soccer tournament in La Jolla, and we were able to see her and her team Infinity in action. They are an impressive group! Afterwards the cousins had fun hanging out during an early dinner. It was great seeing you!

San Onofre and San Clemente
It's easy to spot San Onofre, the inoperative nuclear power plant with the unique dome shape, but it is a state beach. We visited it for the first time, it's seasonally popular with surfers but this day, it was quite empty, due to the cool (cold) weather. The kids found themselves snuggling up to dad when they were hiking and exploring about. Pretty surreal having stretches and stretches of beach to ourselves. Afterwards we went to MRK Public in San Clemente, Anna had Asian chicken wings, Sam the chicken sandwich, Steve a short rib sandwich and I had the Thai mussels. Yum! We then took a stroll on the San Clemente Pier, I think we were the only ones in summer clothing, but that was fine, it added to the excitement of the day.

Redondo Beach
Steve has been coming up with a lot of unique family outings lately. This time it was Redondo Beach. I hadn't been there in years, and it was the first time for the kids. We first went to Curry House, Steve and I had a tasty seafood curry in a hot pot. Then we went to the pier. I've always wanted to try sea urchin from the shell, and Steve and I enjoyed one immensely. It was super fresh, no aftertaste, with the slight sea water saltiness. The kids each drank a lychee freeze drink. We enjoyed some sand and water time as well. Another fun Southern California outing!
