Excelsior 5k
Our school held its first ever 5k, entirely on campus. From mapping out the course, training the kids and teachers, organizing sponsors and getting the whole school on board, it was a total labor of love. It's great instilling lifelong fitness skills with this next generation.

New Car
Our Mazda MPV minivan, the one we purchased new when Anna was born, did not pass its smog check. Steve drove it as long as possible, the car door handle and window(s) were not working properly, among other things. So we had to replace it and bought a Honda Accord. Perhaps one day Anna will be driving this car.

Din Tai Fung
Steve and the kids were finally able to try Din Tai Fung at South Coast Plaza for the first time. We saw there was no line for once, and decided to have a snack of their famous soup dumplings. The kids loved them, Steve did too.

Crystal Cove
We met up with Rachel and the kids at Crystal Cove. This is where our talks about a summer trip to Hawaii really became serious. From here we started dreaming and planning quickly.

Temecula, Day 2
The next morning we had breakfast at EAT Marketplace, Steve sometimes orders a unique menu item that I wish I had ordered, this day was no exception. He ordered a delicious breakfast bowl that I tasted from more than once. On the way home we stopped at Lake Elsinore, it is famous for boating and there's a nice area to have a midday coffee. It was a rejuvenating getaway!

Temecula, Day 1
Steve and I are realizing that time together, just the two of us, is very important. We keep thinking of getaways and postponing them. So it was nice to go to Temecula overnight during Spring Break. We stopped at the Santa Rosa Plateau Ecological Reserve for a scenic run. Then we went to the South Coast Winery where our accommodations were. We enjoyed wine tasting, a chartercurie plate, prime rib and creme brulee.

Happy 45th Steve!
For Steve's birthday, the kids gave homemade cards, and we had lunch at the California Fish Grill. We also took Shadow for a walk at Mile Square Park. Steve is now the only one who can lift our big puppy off the ground. It was an enjoyable, leisurely day celebrating husband and father. He doesn't ask for a lot, but gives soooooo much.
