Trip to Winter Wonderland Trip, Day 5 : Tea and More!
In the afternoon, the girls went to have afternoon tea. The menu included berries and cream, various finger sandwiches (egg salad, salmon, shrimp), the lightest scones with lemon curd and cream, and a variety of desserts. Anna and Lily enjoyed their choice of maple tea. In the meanwhile, the boys enjoyed "frosted fun" which included even more sledding on a faster slope, with speedy sleds.
Trip to Winter Wonderland Trip, Day 5 : Sledding!
The next morning, we rented sleds at the Fairmont and headed outside for the slopes. We found a nice area adjacent to the hotel and made our way to the top. Single sled, double sleds, sitting up, laying belly-down... lots of options and ways to slow down before we hit the bottom. Forest hikes, snow angels... plenty to stay occupied all morning.

Trip to Winter Wonderland Trip, Day 4 : Winter Treats
A jacuzzi soak was perfect after our ice skating workout. Afterwards, the kids enjoyed decorating gingerbread houses, boys working on one, the girls the other. Nice teamwork! In the evening, roasting marshmallows on a toasty campfire nestled in a mini-forest felt beyond magical.
Trip to Winter Wonderland Trip, Day 4 : Skating on the Lake
Is there a more ideal, idyllic spot to ice skate compared to Lake Louise in the wintertime? I was even prompted to lace up a pair of ice skates after more than 20 years. Sam was the first to speed off, having the ice hockey experience under his belt. Everyone else caught on quickly. Steve was patient as he held my hand for a lap around the rink. There were smaller rinks carved out of the ice for hockey players. This was a huge workout that was a highlight of the trip.

Trip to Winter Wonderland Trip, Day 3 : Enjoying the Fairmont
The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise is truly a self-contained resort where especially in the holiday season, they provide lots of activities catered towards families. After enjoying some time in our suite complete with snow covered balcony, a tasty dinner at the Lakeview Lounge, the kids enjoyed themselves in the game room complete with a bounce house, Wii games and crafts and coloring. What a way to end our first night at the lake!
